...writes her name down on your recipt and draws a little heart next to it?

My friend and I took a trip to Pittsburgh over the weekend and decided to hit up some Egyptian hookah bar.  The waitress was amazingly good-looking but I didn't make any moves because the dickwads sitting next to me were already hitting on her and she just kinda ignored them.  My eyes were pretty much tracking her for the time we were there- hopefully not in the manner that a sexual predator would.  She was just pleasant to look at.  I'm sure she noticed that I was interested in her.

We finished toking the hookah, paid, and she handed me the receipt face-down and kinda folded up.  I saw that she wrote her name at the bottom of it and drew a heart at the end of it.  I can see how this could be something her manager tells her to do just to lure desperate guys (like myself) back, but... a heart?

Probably just something she always does.

Although I can see where the confusion may arise. I'm constantly thinking "did that girl like me?", then thinking "nah, she just works in a cafe/shop/whatever. It's her job to be really nice to me :("

Ha, yeah.  I guess it wouldn't hurt to just ask but I couldn't find my mancard at the time, so... I walked out without making a move

Yeah I've seen loads of waitresses do that. It's probably because they think you might tell the manager about the excellent service she provided. Although, not as excellent as you might have hoped lol.

i'm hoping you'll brood over this for days, thinking of this situation in excruciating detail.

you finally decide you need to go back to see her. you get there, walk up to her, describe how beautiful she is and how the heart she drew caused you to travel all the way back.

she replies with 'i draw that heart on every receipt.'

'oh.'

You can hope that this will happen, but it won't.

Some restaurants I've been to the waitresses do that.  Don't think much of it.

A lot of waitresses/waiters write their name on receipt. And the girls write a heart or a smiley face or something like that on it. She probably doesn't wanna marry you.

She would if she knew that I'm a landscaper.

Well it's your fault for not telling her.

I was just being sarcastic.
