Ive noticed an increase of speed myself... You should also try to get rid of junk accounts, ie the accounts of people who never posted anything, or have remained inactive for a long time. I have come accross a lot of these accounts. If your server is indexed, by removing these accounts, it should, in theory, help increase the speed of the next indexing.
