| when creating a new topic or reply, if you select the "mark anonymous" box there should be a form that appears underneath it and that is mandatory to fill out. the member explains why they are making it anonymous and only moderators can read the reason. if the reason doesn't relate to the single purpose of the anonymous feature then the topic is deleted. |

| There's no point. If you've got something to say, you shouldn't be afraid of what peaopl will think. |

| I don't necessary like the feature however I do not feel it should be removed. People have legitimate reasons for using it. I think there should be tighter restrictions on it but I am not sure what would be great to suggest. If we are going to have a more restricted use on it, we do not at the same time want to make it so restricted that newer members do not benefit from it and get the support they need. I would suggest a Moderator/Support Leader queue for all anonymous topics, in that they would have to be approved by a moderator or a support leader before they are allowed on the board as anonymous topics. This would hinder abuse but at the same time create more work for the above mention groups. |

| I don't think it should be removed. Points are hard to get, especially if a member has been warned and has some massive negative number of points, so allowing it only to the wealthy is stupid. And it's not fair for a person to waste their alternate account on posting embarrassing things, sometimes people like to have it open for other reasons, and sometimes they make friends on it. As for abolishing it completely, NO. People need to be able to post their problems without running the risk of getting made fun of for them through PMs etc. Some people would rather not post at all then post under their membername, and those people will not get the support that they need, especially if they don't want to write an eHelp (and if the anon feature is taken from eHelp, that's INSANE). Maybe people with trolling history could get IP banned from posting anonymously. That way, abuse of the anon feature could result in it's removal from that account and all alternate accounts of that person, while keeping it open for the general public. One more thing: Why would restricting anon use to people with more points be of any help at all? You can have spammers with red bars, for crying out loud. It's not like having a blue bar all of a sudden makes you a perfect member. |

I say keep it. It's not fair that it gets eliminated just because certain people have to abuse the privilege and ruin it for those who actually use it for the sole purpose. |

What if someone you know is on LW and you don't want them to know it's you that posted something?
Create a second account solely for the purpose of posting private stuff.
Look dumb ass i am fucking chill and if you dont like the point im making because im actually making a better one then you are fucking deal with it , and its a suggestion that they might actually make happen what if they dont want to make a new account or change theres its not only about you
It take 2 minutes to make a second account. And I never said it was all about me?
you havent said it but your implying it they dont want to make a new one thats there choice you shouldent try to control other people by taking away anon. feature i dont think people are going to start posting on what they really need help on because theres no anon. feature or get the advice they need
Take a fucking chill pill and come back later. This is just an IDEA! It's not something that will be implemented right away. Okay? Do you u-n-d-e-r-s-t-a-n-d?

I seriously think that in order for you to post Anon your post must be approved first so we can filter out Trolls.
Actually I quite like this idea. But I don't know if the Mods will like it. Approving it = more work for them. 54
They could have support leaders do it to. Or create a board of people that just approves Anon topics. |
