Quote: from Anonymous at 3:10 pm on July 4, 2008
long story short, i have an illness which requires a certain amount of care from my mum, roughly she needs to stay up 3-5 hours later than she would of to make sure I'm ok, though she can do other things in that time and its not 100% necessary for her to do that, she just worries. she used to get £300 a month for doing that, since i turned 16 the moneys going to me but she's still doing the same thing. both my parents seem pretty sour about it, should i just offer the money back to them? i mean i would have said they could keep it straight away if they'd said something, but they seemed fine for months but now they seem annoyed about it. oh and they have a pretty good income, i mean they can afford to go on holidays abroad buy new cars etc.. I'm just putting the money in a savings account for uni
You don't have to offer them the money, but if you feel you want to, you can offer some. I would keep some and tell them what you plan to do with the money

ask them if they mind that you're putting it in an account and saving it for school.
