My friend's mom is bi-polar (she told me straightforward) and my friend is too. I heard many bad things about bi-polar. Right now they are very super nice and don't expect anything from me as they said. Later on, what other things could i be expecting? How should i act around them and how should i respond when they are in a bad mood. I mean we all are humans at some point. we all feel pain and such, bipolar people aren't really crazy you know ,whats ur take on this.

Probably it won't.  But if you care about your friend I think that you should try to get her a psychiatrist.  Some medications (for me, Lamictal, Klonopin, Zyprexa, and Ativan) work for me.  Have your friend go into a doctor's office in a clinic and see what she'll prescribe.  I'm definitely thinking the Lamictal and Ativan. Its not like living here could ruin my life or anything right? xroses are redx Posted at 8:11 am on July 17, 2008 It depends on the type of bi polar, but you can expect elated moods where it seems they are kind of "high" where they will crack jokes, laugh exessively, and maybe even be a little annoying. Usually in the low moods you can expect crying, feeling hopeless, they will seem depressed. Just be sympathetic, try not to get frustrated with them. Depending on their personality, they may be want to be left alone, or they may want someone to talk to. You can always research about bi polar disorder, it's really interesting. (to me anyway) ReesesLuverx3 Posted at 8:08 am on July 17, 2008 It depends how extreme their bi-polar is... my brother and cousin are bi-polar. They tend to go from extreme happiness to unhappiness to being upset to angry. But not all bi-polar ppl are as extreme or unhappy.
