Replies nik1 Posted at 9:54 am on Aug. 28, 2008 I was never spanked and neither was my sister.  Basically when an adult uses force it does not change their behavior but teaches them that adults will hit them so it becomes a trust and fear issue.  It also is evidence that a parent does not have the brain power or patience to handle behavior in a more effective and non intimidating way. So, I don't ever see the need to spank a child. Spanking doesnt work, just look at 99% of people in prison or jail were spanked, plus most everyone I know who was spanked turned out horrible, did drugs, etc..
