So I was close friends with someone five years ago for only a month. Five years later today, I still can't get over the broken friendship. He's moved on with other friends and is living a regular life.

He was the only friend I had. Other people I spoke to later on, I just got to make small talk with them.
Would it be normal for someone to go through this if they have no other friends.

Would I get over it if I made another or more close friends

Try to make new friends. That's the only way.
