Would you rather live with the regret, with the chance he would have probably said yes? There is no reason he would reject a day with you when it's known that you'll be gone soon. It's usually not a bothersome thing to anybody, and he will most likely say yes. You have nothing to lose if he says no. You might be in pain for a little while but it will definitely not last as long as regret for not asking to begin with.[/quote]

i know it sounds simple but it's much harder than you'd think. to make things simple i'm moving in a week and my friend we were really close once then we kind of drifted away and we recently met again and we're all good but we're not AS close as we were before. and since i'm leaving... i want to see him. meet him, hang out whatever. and talk about things. the only way i can talk to him now is through texting and he said "hopefully i get to see you before you leave" and i want to ask but i can't. i still like him, i kind of always did. and if he can't or won't, thats gonna be hearbreaking all over again and i wouldn't want to leave feeling like that. i'm not asking him out on a date, i just want a day as friends. but GOD i just want to spend one last day with him. how should i ask. should i even?

Of course you should ask. :D I'm sure he would love to spend another day with you. Just be like "So, I'm leaving (whenever) and was wondering if you wanted to hangout and (whatever)." Your worrying for nothing. ;)
