His family life is rather messed up, so I agreed to give him a secure place to stay for a couple of nights. He's a good kid, almost like a little brother to me, but the things he says kind of freak me out. Like, I took a steak knife out of the draw, and he said 'That's like the knife my dad tried to stab my mum with', and he keeps talking about his parents being in a gang, and his dad shooting people etc. I'd like to think that I'm having a positive influence on this kid's life, and that he won't adopt his parents' ways, but I hope I don't get murdered tonight.
