Ever been somewhere with way too many memories that you're trying to escape? Ever tried sleeping there for the first time since these memories?

Ever tried holding sadness out for a summer and a fall, and expecting it not to come back, over and over again?

Ever tried remembering and forgetting simultaneously?

I can't. And this is so hard.

Yeah. I try to ignore the "try to remember" part and focus on "try to forget", that makes the experience of the memories flooding your mind easier to ignore.

What's going on, lovely?

I understand what you're feeling to some degree. Sometimes those memories just get far too overwhelming and controlling your emotions and trying to be happy and forcing the smile that you know people are expecting just gets too much. Don't push yourself, yeah? It won't make things better. You're holding in that sadness and hiding it away and you can see for yourself where that's gotten you. What are you trying to forget? And how long are you going to be there? If, of course, you are ok with explaining. It might just help me expand a wee bit. I can't go jumping in asking you to remove yourself from the situation if you physically can't, and I don't know the circumstances so I don't know how healthy that'd be for you to do.

Nora: Yes, I've tried. I find the easiest way to deal with it is to just take yourself away from that situation/those people, and stay away until you feel basically nothing for them anymore.
