My mum commented on my weight again today. She told me I should go to the doctors and ask them to give me a diet.
It really upsets me when she says things like that. I have spoke to her about her saying these.
She told me that fat kids need to be told and told to lose weight before it happens.
I wouldnt mind going to the doctors but I am scared they will judge me and I am also scared of knowing my weight.

I tried eating well by myself and I think I am doing well but it is hard to stick to. My mum eats chocolate in front of me and so do my sisters.

I am confused on what to do.

I know it has to suck but she's just telling you the truth. She is probably looking out for your best interests, although she could do it in a more polite way. Maybe you should check in with your doctor, they will help you work out a diet plan and since you have already started on your own then it should be pretty easy. About them eating in front of you, just think about how many calories they are putting into their bodies and how unhealthy it is. =]

i know that feeling
i live my grandparents
and my grandfather comments on every thing i eat
telling me i eat to much
and i developed awhile ago and lost 50 pounds and then he told my whole family at christmas that i was starving myself cause i'm fat, and it was extended family and it kills me and the only reason i'm not doin any crash dieting anymore is because my bf makes a point to make sure he always tell me i'm perfect the way i am, your best bet is to have someone to help boost your self esteam =D

If she is saying things like that, it's probably because she cares, and you are to a point where you need to be on a diet. Obviously you don't want to hear her comment on your weight, as it probably hurts you to think about it. Going on a diet, along with exercise can get you back on the right track to be healthy.

The doctor won't judge you, he or she is there to help you. If you don't know your weight, you are just holding the reality back, and it will be harder to face when you get there. Step on a scale at home, and hopefully it won't be as bad when you get to the doctor's office.

Yes, diets are hard to stick to when you are used to eating badly your whole life. Just because others are eating something, doesn't mean you need to. Have some self control, and just don't eat it, eat something that you know is on your diet.

Hope this helped,
Peter
