i live in michigan too, and yea it's legal to leave at 16 i think.
HuffleHaire Posted at 6:56 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
It'll be reported as a runaway, and the over 18 figure would get in trouble as well..

Im sure she can.

If she does get reported as a run away, it will just screw the parents over. Theres normally a Child Protective Services investigation then, and that would reveal that her parents are abusive. At that time she could get emancipated.

If she is escaping abuse, then it is okay.  Also, why would it matter.  If someone needs to flee from getting beaten, they should do it regardless of literal enforcement of law.
Everlongx Posted at 6:54 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
How about not being beaten at all?
Take their asses to court.
CarolineLouise Posted at 6:54 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
Yeah i used to be in Michigan
they can report you but it's useless, just about the same as reporting an 18 year old
babsbunee13 Posted at 6:54 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
Talk to someone at your school... they may be able to help you out.
iinsurgent Posted at 6:53 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
if she can prove she's escaping abuse, she wont get in any legal trouble.
HeavenShallBurn Posted at 6:53 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
Get emancipated..... Its not hard.
imSOFAKINGrad Posted at 6:53 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
it'll be reported as a runaway, seeing as she's a minor
UndergroundKing Posted at 6:53 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
You could get emancipated...
return2me Posted at 6:53 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
