I really don't want him to be part of those groups, and I really wish he wasn't so popular for a 14 year old. I've seen what happens to the bright but easily influenced kids, who think that the only way to be liked is by following the crowd. They just end up failing academically because they think everything will come to them, and end up letting go completely and doing what others want them to. Just like the popular kids in my school, who now have nothing, and a lack of friends because the others have found other people to break.
I just want him to concentrate on his studies more, and really push himself to do better, because if there's one thing I regret, it's not being 100% motivated from the very start. It was only till I was about 16 that I wanted things to change, and I wanted the very best. Although, by that time, he might be too influenced by the others to care.
I want to tell him all this, but don't know how.
