it's probably because it's a proven method of parenting.
Too bad the research collectively says the opposite.
my parents spanked my brothers and i and i plan to use the same with my own children. it teaches kids to associate negative behavior with negative results, which is effective in all senses of the word.
It merely teaches children to associate getting caught by people who have power over them with negative results.
first-hand experience says you're wrong.

Spanking is not a proven method of parenting. Read into psychology.
first-hand experience says differently, and i don't put much stock in psychology. |

i'm not really sure what you qualify as "bad," but the parents who are particularly evil to their children probably resent the burden of bearing and keeping a child. however, if you're talking about disciplinary punishment as spanking, it's probably because it's a proven method of parenting. my parents spanked my brothers and i and i plan to use the same with my own children. it teaches kids to associate negative behavior with negative results, which is effective in all senses of the word.

They treat their children badLY. And it's because they enjoy having power over other people, generally. That or stupidity.
Not so mediocre now... you corrected me. |

| Lots of things go into that issue. Jealousy, mental problems, regret, anger problems, how they were treated as kids, etc. |

No. Why, is it suppose to explain how I read into this?
No, but I believe it would certainly change your opinion on a parent's perspective of "punishment"
Well, some parents just don't have hearts, but, I know I sound ridiculous, some of them really don't know what they are doing is harsh. |

They don't treat their children bad, in their opinions. It's just, it's different for everyone and their way of "disciplining" their children.
..Have you ever read "A Child Called It?"

| Because they probably have been treated bad and abused during their life. That isn't at all an excuse, but that is usually involved. |
