Well I just came home early from work, because everyone in my family has or is recovering from the flu.
The only thing I don't get is that they all had the flu shot this year and I haven't and I'm not sick yet
Anyone ever heard of something like this or experienced it themselves?
I know also that it doesn't mean that I still won't get it yet, I'm just hoping so.

The flu shot not only contains several different strands, but it also is updated and changed.

Yeah, it happens.

Flu mutates every year. Maybe you just happen to already be immune to this strain but they aren't.

That is false because the flu shot contains several different strands.

The flu shot is actually a controversial topic. Many people claim that the flu virus mutates each year so we just get last year's flu shot, while others say that the flu shot can actually make you sick if you have a below-normal immune system. So who knows.

Well I hope that is what it is.  I haven't had the flu for 10 years now and the last time I did have it I was almost hospitalized for having a temperature of 106.  So I think my immunity it slightly elevated than most.

Washing Hands = Cold/Flu prevention.

We all wash our hands like crazy this time of year.

The flu shot doesn't protect against every kind of flu; just the most common ones. At least I think that's how it works.
