i was the same way (until i got hypothyroid, so now i have to go every month to watch my T4 levels so it's not as bad anymore) i was so scared, i cried every night before i had to go. when i went in there, i was shaking and bawling. (im seventeen years old ) my mom came in with me, and she held my hand. i was freaking out too bad for them to do it, they had to have two people come in, one to hold me down, one to hold my arm down. i was screaming and shaking (major hemophobe) but it didn't hurt really it was like a pinch. and that was it. (ofcourse, thats not what bothered me, what bothered me was that my blood was going up a tube) but really it's not so bad. Your more afraid of the fear itself really. my boyfriend went with me the second and third times and i cried the second and shook a bit but no one needed to hold me down :D. honestly, if you say to yourself it's a normal procedure and nothing can go horribly wrong (like i wish i had done) you'll be fine. |

Actually, I'd rather have blood drawn. When you get shots, it usually hurts or stings. But just getting your blood drawn in like a little pinch. I wouldn't even say it was a big enough pinch to make it hurt. Once the needle is in and they're drawing the blood, just look away and it won't even be that bad. I usually have my mom go in with me so I can talk to her while they're doing it because it lasts about a minute. It's not so bad, so don't worry =]

its more of a pull than anything. like a tiny pinch at first. mine went in like a colored tube. i bet you could ask them to just cover the tube it goes into so you dont see it. really i HATE shots too, but it wasnt bad.

I've gotten my blood drawn a few times before. It doesn't really hurt much. If the sight of blood bothers you that much, just look away. Trust me, you'll be fine. It's nothing to be afraid of.

I have anemia aswell, get them every few months, it gets easier, if you relax and think about smething else it just nips a tiny bit, and then they pull it out when theyve taken blood, it does nip a tiny bit but doesnt hurt as much as you wuld think. I have flu jabs every year aswell so honestly its nothing to worry about.

It's not bad. It's just like a little pinch. Look away while they're doing it if you don't like to see blood.

it doesn't hurt as much as getting a shot to be honest, if you can ask for a smaller needle and the kind that doesn't go straight to the vial, the kind that has the little tube... those hurt a lot less in my opinion.
