I don't really need birth control pills, but the doctor wants me to stay on them anyway because for some reason I do not get a menstrual cycle at all unless I am on them... he says I will never be able to get pregnant or anything, but I suppose that is beside the point.

I have one question though. I prefer to take it in the morning just because it is easier, but on days I go to school I take it around six, just before I leave for the school bus, but on days I stay home I take it whenever I wake up, which is usually around ten or eleven. Is this okay? What is time frame for taking the pill before it is considered "missed"?

Uhh... please, no stupid, useless or immature responses from males, please.

im pretty sure the time frame is anywhere from 3-6 hours.. it depends on your pill type. the reason they mostly tell you to take it at about the same time everyday is so that you will remember to take it. i just set the alarm on my phone for 230 everyday.. and thats when i take it..
thats just what time its convinent for me.

Hmm... I'm on Yasmin, which is all I am really sure of.

Yasmin is 6, my girlfriend is on it, and the box is lying next to me.

if you can't get pregnant then what's the point? you don't need a period then. sometimes dr's are wrong. unless its fatal or really bad to not have a period for whatever reason i wouldn't take them.

The Pill provides other benefits besides pregnancy prevention. She might be on it for those other benefits

Well Mom just wants to follow the doctor's orders...

By the way, I am a virgin. :|

I believe it's about a three hour window between your regular time and what would count as "missed"
Petchy Posted at 6:14 pm on Oct. 19, 2008
The time frame for most pills is usually 12 hours, but that is for birth control purposes. So leaving it just a few should be fine.

By the way, the last comment, a little sexist surly?

Usually it's best to take it within the same hour everyday, otherwise it has the potential to not work properly.
And, before it's considered "missed" I think my doctor said something about 6 hours, I can't remember though.

Ah, finally, a helpful response from a FEMALE!!

Thank you!
