Replies LoveKay Posted at 10:04 pm on Dec. 1, 2008 You should never be embarassed to go to the doctor for a check-up. Usually, a gyno would check you as well during a visit. It's not a very high chance you could develop breast cancer this early, but doctors tell all women of all ages to always be aware of it and do breast exams monthly. As you said, it's rare for seventeen year olds to go through this so I highly doubt anyone on LiveWire has good advice for you. The best advice we can provide is that you need to see a doctor. A mammogram might hurt, but you should always be safe. Even if it's not breast cancer it could be something else, (A cyst, perhaps?) Either way it needs looking into. A mamogram may not be necessary, but get it checked out.
