I'm not saying I'm going to fail, or succeed. I'm going to try.

Cancer runs in the genes of my family, the cause was smoking. I know I have basically already upped the chance of me getting cancer since I've been smoking for over a year.
But I want to avoid the higher risk of it, so I want to quit smoking.

As well, I really would love to start jogging and I can't run two blocks without almost passing out.

So therefore, any support or tips on quitting? It would really be helpful. :)

If you give yourself the opportunity to give up (as you already have)

You will not succeed.

You have to KNOW you will quit. If you don't have the motivation behind it, you're not going to quit.

I quit cold turkey. It was damn hard, but I made my family not let me go anywhere alone, so that I wouldn't have a chance to buy cigarettes.

And I destroyed all of mine and got my parents to lock away all of the lighters and matches in our house.

same.
gum or the patch?

Nicotine gum that slowly takes you down to where the cravings aren't so bad when you quit all together.
