It isn't physically impossible to lose that amount of weight in that amount of time, but it is extremely unhealthy. You should set your goal a little lower, like, maybe that amount by next year or half of that by June. Plus, why wait to start on the New Year, why not start now? Every little bit helps.

That is basically impossible.
we'll see...
I have faith that you can lose weight but it is physically impossible to lose that amount in such a small amount of time. Persevere though |

That, and you'll realize that even if you don't lose the 80 lbs, you'll still look better even if you lose 10.

Instead of focusing on a long-term goal like that, set small goals. Think "this month I want to lose X pounds" or "this week i want to run X number of miles". Also keep in mind that you may not reach your set goals, but something is ALWAYS better than nothing. ETA- also, make your goals realistic. If you set them too high, you're more likely to feel disappointment if you dont meet them.

By June? You're asking to lose over 10 pounds a month, that's actually a lot, and it isn't necessary healthy for you. You also haave to consider that once you do lose some of that initial weight, it will get harder. Not to mention you will also gain some weight from muscle mass as well. My suggestion to you is this. Lower your goal. If you set it too high, it WILL discourage you (I've seen it happen to my roommates all the time). Try something like... 10 pounds by the end of February. If you realize you can do a bit better, then go for it... but start of small and THEN work your way up. It doesn't mean you have to work any less harder, but if you have something that is DEFINITELY achievable, then it'll make it easier.

If you genuinely want to do it for health reasons and not just because you feel like you're a 'fat ass'... Eh, your life. Do it if you want, just try to not go to extremes about it.

You have to seriously want it. I lost 50lbs just by exercising for 15 minutes a night and a few diet changes. It is possible. Good Luck and if you need any support just drop me a line.
