so im 19, left NY and moved to Ohio..been here for a lil over a year now. i just tried for insurance because im a diabetic and hey..i need my supplies. so anyway i was talking with the chick bout it and she said 1. they can give me insurance that covers hospital bills, but thats all she knew about..said it was passed april 1st and noone knows anything about it yet. 2, i live with my mom and been planning to move out this summer..she said if im on my own they can give me a diff insurance that covers everyting but will stop workin when im 20, or 3, i can apply for dissability which i wont do..im 19 and i still have 35 to 40 yrs of work left in me. either way i look at it this state cant do anything to help me with my medical equipment

Oh that sounds nuts! In the UK if ur diabetic all ur medicine is free and if ur PCT (Primary Care Trust, that keeps tabs on the spending from all the surgeries in their area), thinks that u tick alll the boxes in the criteria to warrant having an insulin pump then ul also get ur consumables for the pump for free, otherwise ul end up going back to MDI's again ( multiple dose injections).

They do..its called disability..they would rather pay for all my medical shit and pay me each month so i can sit at home and do nothing than help me with my medical bills..kinda messed up actually

lady said i didnt qualify for it..that was the first thing i asked, thats what i need for medtronic, my insulin pump supplies need but i dont qualify for it
