i dont know if this was sleep paralysis or something else. please help.

i was dreaming some lady was reading my palm, but my head was resting against her side, and her shirt was over my mouth, restricitng my breathing. i woke up, because i couldnt breath, and my head was resting against my pillow. i was fully aware i was awake but i could not move or stay awake, like i was so tired i couldnt move. it also felt like my pillow was suffocating me.

after a few minutes i abrubtly regained movement and rolloed onto my back, but i fell back asleep

a while later i woke back up, and i couldnt breath becuase i was choking on my tongue. i was awake but i could not focus my eyes or yell for help. i obviosly could not move either. after a few minute of struggling to move, breath and stay awake, i abruptly regained movement in my leg, and i accidently swung it out to the side and hit my dresser hard wiht my ankle. this "woke me up" from the state.

the difference between sleep paralysis and what i experienced is that i have never heard of people not being able to breath, and i did not hallucinate. was this just a strabge case of sleep paralysis or something more serious?

It's possible that you have some type of asthma, or other respitory issue. If I were you I'd see a doctor.

That would scare the crap out of me. I would go to the doctor about it.

Yeah, that sounds like sleep paralysis. Feelings of pressure on the chest or being suffocated along with breathing problems can be sleep paralysis.

That is definitely sleep paralysis.  I've experienced this twice

Heres My experience.

I remember having some very vivid dreams, then. I drempt, I could see myself in my sleep, it was sort of out of body, then I could see, what i can only describe as looking something like the black smoke out of lost being in my room, it felt like there was a presence, it wrapped itself around me, and It felt like there was a weight on my chest. I also remember the same night having waking up numerous times after short dreams, except I wasnt certain I was awake, I couldnt move, or open my eyes, and my breathing felt restricted, I assumed it was still part of a dream, so relaxed and waited to wake up,

The whole night was a very odd expereice, so much so in the morning I got googling, came across sleep paralysis, and its description seemed to fit what had happend to me perfectly,

Ive since had it where I couldnt move or open my eyes shortly after ive woken up, but ive not had any more hallucination like vivid dreams.
