so say i have a music file in mp3 format. how can i convert it to wma without having to go to a website to do it??

why would you ever want to do that? there's a program called switch but i don't know if it's for pc

You can't. You'll need to go online and download a converter. (Media Converter SA Edition is a good choice.)

Download a converter program. If you're into piracy, download the torrent and CD cracker. If you aren't, prepare to pay at lease 30 bucks.

There are online programs that will convert them without having to downlaod anything. But it's much faster and easier to do if you download the program as mentioned abive (Media Converter SA Edition). http://www.mediaconverter.org/

from mp3 to wma? i've never heard of such a conversion. i suppose wma compresses it further though?

It compresses the file 3 times more.
