Ehh, that's a little ungrateful if you ask me. Be lucky you're getting a car at all, I know if I get one I'm going to have to pay for it.

Be grateful for what you get! It's better than not having a car at all. No need to act like a spoilt brat. He said he's going to do the best he can and you should accept that!

A. I really don't think you get to complain about a car you're being given. B. If it's that upsetting to you, tell your father you'd like him to give your a price range, and then you can look on Craig's List or something like that to find a car that better suits you. Just tell him you feel like a 1980 Town Car is a little old, you feel like it might give out on you, and it takes too much gas. http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html

why wont you just look over for a car in his price range that you like? for 4k you could get alot more options than just that.

Don't whine, be grateful. :D It'll probably be a gas guzzler though.

Hm, 5000$ is like....€3000 roughly....you could get a newer better car than that for that price here :/ 98 corolla? 99 Ibiza

That's not cheap...at all. I go to an auto-body class and only pay for materials and it still isn't cheap.

Lincoln Towncars are boats, be happy. I almost got an 86 Towncar but it had a lot of problems w/ it so I passed.

So you have a 3-5K budget and your dad is getting you a 1980 towncar? Hell you can get a 96 Civic for that price and be better off. Your dad is an idiot from the way it sounds

Be happy you are getting a car for free. But your dad is an idiot, you can get a mid-late 90's car for under $5k easily.
-- Posted by emo sux69 at 8:39 am on June 29, 2008
Im getting a WAY better car for only 1.5k. 4k for a car that old is ridiculous. you could get a late 90s car in that price range easy.

A proper paint job that will last more than two months, will cost upwards of five thousand dollars.

That has got to be the worst deal I have ever heard of. Complete rip off.

Not many people like their first car. Unless you're a whorebag on MTV's "Super Sweet 16" Edit: And even then, they still cry about not having the car they want after they just got a $60,000 bimmer or something
