I know it feels like you're being mean, I'm similar in those kinds of things.  But you know what's worse?  Staying with someone when you don't want to be with them.  If anything, that's much more 'not nice', don't you agree? Bring it up when you get the chance... tell him that you don't think this relationship is right for you and that it's time you both go you own ways.  Bring it up however you feel most comfortable, and really... just be honest.
