Sweden is on its way to allow homosexuality be a reason good enough to get a permanent residence permit. Permanent residence permit was given to an Iranian guy who had to escape from his home country because he was living together with his boyfriend while not keeping it a secret. Before escaping, the guy had been arrested repeatedly. He was living with a foreign diplomat who by now has left Iran. Discuss.

I'm more upset that someone in Iran was being arrested for being homosexual. I applaud Sweden.

It's not just that he was homosexual - it's that, even if he wouldn't end up being arrested for it in Iran, he'd certainly be lynched by a member of the public. It's the same with the Baha'i and Christian refugees from that country.

Sweden in doing this have standed up for human rights, if the guy was forced back to Iran he would of been executed for being gay.

Yeah we're the gay haven of the world. Second to Amsterdam only. We have gay pride speeches in some churches even, . Yeah so come here and be gay all you homos and lesbos. Thankyou. Oh and it's cold here most of the time so the chicas don't dress like that. They are hot though. Hands off, foreigners.

Boo, human rights suck. What a cry baby, being granted residence just because he would get whipped and hanged. If you don't want to be executed then stop being gay!

This. Iran is extremely intolerant of homosexuals, and execution is not uncommon. Oddly enough, if you're transgender you can legally get a sex change.
