I was in a relationship with a girl (long distance) for a year and four months. 2 weeks before my university finals, she decided to dump me because "she lost interest in me." I felt like shit, crap, degraded, and a shitty boyfriend.

Well, summer is here and I am planning to see couple of my friends. Stanley, one of my college friends, is going to introduce me to hookah and salvia.

Now, I want to know if hookah gets you high or not; I already looked up results of salvia and it does get the user high.

My questions are:
Is hookah addictive?
Is salvia addictive?
Does salvia hurt my body?

no hookahs basically just like smoking tobaco. it wont get you high it just relaxes you and its a fun social thing to do. however if they put weed in the hookah it will obviously get you high

Hookah can be addictive--it's tobacco.  Salvia isn't additive and shouldn't hurt you.

A new fad among college students and other young people - smoking from a hookah - is raising public health concerns.
The centuries-old tradition of smoking from a hookah, or waterpipe, is widely perceived to be less harmful and addictive than smoking cigarettes or other forms of tobacco. Yet a number of studies suggest that hookah smoking may be just as addictive and perhaps even more harmful because of the way people smoke while using a waterpipe, reports the March 2008 issue of the Harvard Mental Health Letter.

Alright... would I choke if I smoked it first time?
I used to smoke cigarettes but quit after 2 years...

Salvia divinorum is a plant used for its psychoactive effects. Given the right dose, individual, set and setting, it produces a unique state of  'divine inebriation' which has been traditionally used by Mazatec healers. This inebriation is quite different from that of alcohol. Salvia divinorum is both similar to, and different from, other drugs that affect the brain and behavior. In many ways Salvia divinorum is a unique 'magical' herb

Even if you have considerable experience with other psychoactive drugs, you will find that salvia is significantly different from what you may have encountered before. Salvia is unique, and it is best understood on its own terms, and not by analogy with other substances. Salvia is not a recreational drug, rather, it is best used by those wishing to explore deep meditative states, spiritual realms, mysticism, the nature of consciousness and reality, or the possibilities of shamanistic healing. Experiences vary with the individual, set, and setting as well as with dose and route of administration. It produces a short-lived inebriation that is very different from that of alcohol. However, like alcohol it interferes with the ability to drive, produces incoordination (ataxia), and may produce slurred speech.

The inebriation, at low doses, can facilitate aesthetic and sensual appreciation. However, the experience is not marijuana-like, and salvia is not a marijuana substitute. At somewhat higher doses, visionary trances occur. The lowest level visions consist mainly of closed-eye imagery somewhat similar to the hypnagogic phenomena that many people experience when falling asleep. These tend to be two dimensional faint images. The term "eye candy" is an appropriate description of the interesting closed eye visuals that are not confused with reality.

You won't choke the first time you smoke hookah. I remember when I did it, it was a few days after I first smoked weed so I expected it to be the same way and I was nervous. But you really wont choke you barely feel anything until you blow out

Wow...Salvia. My friend at work smoked that with his dad and he said his dad took the first hit and totally freaked out. Ran into the kitchen, thought he was in an old timey store and all the people were laughing at him...Then he ended up falling or something and hitting his head on the stove and passing out.

Be careful. That stuff's crazy.

What the FUCK does that...

Have to do with this...?

Salvia can really fuck a person up; I would advise you to be careful. I know someone who has had about thirty years of experience with drugs -- EVERY drug -- and he was convinced that he was dead after smoking salvia. I've also heard about experiences from others and I didn't hear very many good things about it, mostly that it just freaked them out a lot. Don't underestimate me when I say it really fucks up your mind.

I must add, though...One girl I talked to smoked only a small amount of salvia and said she felt good, as if she was mildly tripping on shrooms.

If and how much you do is totally up to you, so good luck!

lol you cant smoke hookah, you smoke OUT of a hookah

I want to add something. I don't think that you should turn to these drugs immediately because you're depressed about getting dumped. These drugs are DEFINITELY not going to make you feel any better about this, I promise. Get over the break-up mentally; don't experiment with drugs for this reason.
