At the college I'm going to this upcoming year and I took a shower in the morning.... I think that is the one thing that will always be weird for me, is wearing shoes in the shower (to help prevent athlete's foot). Also, I hope my roommate won't have a problem with another girl dressing around her, because I'm not going to get dressed in the bathroom stall all year (I have no problem with a girl dressing around me, afterall, not like I haven't seen it before). What's one thing you've had to adjust to while at an away-school?

how does wearing shoes in the shower prevent athletes foot? if anything the constant moisture only helps it grow

One person goes barefoot into the shower with athlete's foot, then another person goes in later also barefoot and gets it...but, if you aren't touching the surface (by wearing shower shoes or flip-flops) then you're far less likely to get it or spread it....or, I think that's how it function...it has to do with touching bacterial surfaces bare-footed spreads it.
