-- Posted by Ad libitum at 2:34 am on July 2, 2008 My friend offered to take me out tonight, to celebrate the fact that I am now 18 (well, I turned 18 on Sunday, but she couldn't be here in the evening to go out). It would have been a nice gesture and everything, it's just I can't help but feel we're going to be toasting her get together with her boyfriend who she was on a break with for a day instead. She'll probably start keep talking about him loads too, which she knows I don't really like. It's not that I'm jealous, it's just that, she's a bright girl and for whatever reason, can't see that he is incompetent and will never be able to support her: both financially and emotionally. He treats her like rubbish, [which she has even admitted herself], yet she keeps going back to him probably because of some dependancy issues or something. So now, I don't know how to act tonight: should I act as distant as possible?
