so my friends sister just died. she was ten. he is my age. well i didn't even know he had a sister and my friends want me to go to the funeral with them to pay our respects...but not to the girl the wake is for..to him instead. how rude and awkward would that be? go there talk to him not even bothering to go up and pay respects to the girl but instead just say sorry and leave? how rude is that its like yeah hey parents no i didn't know your girl im here for mike to say sorry not to pay my respects for the person whos wake this is really for. i just think it would be rude to go. i mean he is my friend and i told him i am sorry but the wake is for her not him. .....ah does anyone get what im saying cause my friends obviously don't understand.

ps. not even close with him i hardly talk to him so thats even more why i think it would be weird

Nah, I get what you're saying.  If you feel like you've said what you need to say to your friend, then leave it at that.  I'm sure he appreciated you being there for him.

So kudos to you for having common sense.
