Help me out here please...

My computer starting freezing really badly, so I shut it down without closing iTunes. I've done this before, and nothing bad happened to my library.

This time, though, when I turned my computer back on and restarted, my iTunes library was completely gone. I opened and closed iTunes, and it was still gone. The only thing I could find that did anything was something I saved awhile ago that only contained 750 songs out of my total songs, which is over 2000.

Is there some way I can recover the other songs?
I still have them on my iPod, but if I plug my iPod in, will iTunes erase what I have on my iPod now?

You could try a System Restart.
Programs It takes your computer back to a previous date and restores everything.

I think you can export things from your iPod to your computer

Thats why I keep my songs on an external hard-drive...
Search for the songs in your computer, they may simply have been erased from ITUNES only.

Search for some song titles or just search for " .mp3 " or " .mp4 "

They should be backed up on your computer elsewhere
have you checked other music files on your computer?

Can't be done.
People could export songs from their iPod to another computer and could be illegally file-sharing. I've tried haha.

Sorry man, there's no way to get them back.

Alright, thanks, I'll try that if no one else has a better idea.

Yes you can, its called sharepod [or other free software]
download it, use it, get all your music back..

try to search your computer for them first.

are your songs actually gone from your computer or just from itunes?

This is the order which you should try it [since your system restore might revert to a LONG time ago, and you might lose many other things]

1. search for your songs by name, or by .mp3, .mp4
2. Try sharepod to simply get the songs back
3. THEN try the system restore.

Alright, I got them back.
That was a close one. O.O
