I have a lot of respect in the girl,  but I just really don't get on with her friends or her boyfriend [who she talks about a lot]. We're meant to be meeting up on Monday to toast the fact that I'm now 18 [turned 18 on the 29th June], and she hasn't been available to go for a drink before then. How do I tell her that I don't know where I stand? And ask whether I'm one of the favourites? I thought if I asked as directly, I might come across as confrontational or something, so how can I be subtle about it?
