Do you think the punishment is fair?

-- Posted by look over here at 9:27 am on July 4, 2008

That's a good idea. I'd sell my vote.

-- Posted by storyofmylife223 at 9:27 am on July 4, 2008

no it was just a harmless joke. it really didn't matter

-- Posted by circa at 9:27 am on July 4, 2008

I laughed, but it's sort of sad at the same time, because it really sounds like something I'd do, too.

Yes, that cunt clearly doesn't care about his country. What a joke.

-- Posted by MushroomSatsujin at 9:28 am on July 4, 2008

At this point, none of our votes dont matter anyway. Now, lets say that it did, then yes, its fair.

EDIT: DIdnt read it. He shouldnt of gotten a felony but this is still pretty fucked up

Anyone who says that the punishment is fair should do time in prison.

-- Posted by BananaPancake at 9:29 am on July 4, 2008

People do the dumbest things on ebay. But, no, I don't think it was necessary to punish him for it.

Does anybody want to buy my vote for this poll? $10 starting price.

-- Posted by yazmo at 9:41 am on July 4, 2008

Thats way over the top
=/
who cares? he has his right to vote, therefore he should have the right to choose what he does with his vote.

-- Posted by stiicky iicky at 9:43 am on July 4, 2008

I think that's ridiculous.

No one even got the vote, so wtf.

-- Posted by iloveflute at 9:45 am on July 4, 2008

this is just stupid

-- Posted by mellx at 9:54 am on July 4, 2008

I don't think he should be fined that much. It was a joke. What the hell.

Good to see that the court is spending their time on more serious issues, such as putting child molesters and serial killers in jail...

-- Posted by scalywag66 at 11:42 am on July 4, 2008

sounds a little overboard. I mean, it's not like politicians dont buy votes in other ways anyway.

I know!! Right?

Five year prison sentence? I've heard of scammers, thieves, abusive parents, hell even child molesters who get off with lighter sentences than that. At the very least if we're going to make vote buying/selling illegal then we should make lobbying a captial offense (which probably wouldn't be a half bad idea).
