Pages: 1 2 3  Next -- Posted by RelientKFan824 at 5:11 pm on July 5, 2008 Many of you have probably seen the English Fail Blog.  This contest is based on the concept of user-posted photos of failed uses of the English language. The Contest: Post an original picture that you took that exhibits some sort of "English Fail." Example, taken by yours truly at an Old Navy near my University: Rules: 1) You must have taken the picture yourself. 2) The picture may be edited, but the actual "fail" part may not be edited.  That is, you may not rearrange letters, punctuation, etc., to make "non-fail" English into "fail" English. 3) The picture you submit may not be posted on any other website.  Not only must your picture be original, it must not have been previously posted on English Fail, Engrish, or any other website. 4) You may enter as may times as you would like, but you may only win once. 5) The judging method will be as follows: The three judges (myself, Yummie Strawberries, and greeneyedone) will select our favorite five entries (number subject to change).  These five will be made into a poll in which the general population will vote.  The winner selected by the poll will be the winner of the contest.  All judges' decisions are final. 6) The contest deadline is to be determined.  Any entries posted after the deadline (or posts edited after the deadline) will not be considered. 7) The winner(s) will receive points, amounts of which are to be determined and are displayed on the "Contests" page. 8) All entries must be posted in this topic.  If you enter more than once, please post all entries in the same post.  If you enter once and decide to submit another entry, you must edit your original post to include the new entries. 9) Judges may not enter the contest.  They may post examples of entries, but these examples will not be considered. The sign made me sad and I had to walk past it to get from my hotel to the beach or strip. However, I can't hold back the temptation to let you all know about a MAJOR English flaw that drops by my hometown every Thanksgiving along with the local fair. There is a booth that is always there called "APPLE ANNIE'S" with four fluorescent signs, one on either side. However, on only one of the four signs is the mistake if it reading: "APPLE ANNI'ES". It's comes year after year.
