I don't know why but I just had a flashback to my band geek years(all the way from 6th grade to 8th grade)

And i can't believe I'm saying this but.....

I miss my flute and saxophone !!!!

I've been watching bands on youtube perform all the same songs that i did back when I was in band but they don't seem to play it as good as our school band did.....it sounds weird.

Moving on.....
I still have my music sheets and books and crap so im thinkin of saving up money for another flute
Cause for some odd reason I quit band in high school cause i didn't want to have a reputation as a 'band geek'

Yes, I know I was stupid for caring what stupid people think, but as you can see I no longer do ^_^

Any tips on finding good quality instruments for a low price????

I can't believe you gave up your music for other people. I could never even imagine being pushed to that point.

I think you should visit a music store. Or talk to your old band teacher or something.

haha thats stupid. just becuase you play an instrument doesnt make you a geek. i mean im at college studying music, and im a really good standard on 3 instruments, but that doesnt mean im a typical geek! for a good flute thats a good price but isnt amazing, but plays with a nice tone, if i where you i'd go for a yamaha. thats what most people start on. don't go for a buffet flute though!

Go to your nearest specialist music shop and try out the flutes to see which you prefer. Then check on the internet to see how much that particular flute is and either buy it off the net or tell the shop how much you found it for and ask if they can meet the price.

I did this when I brought my new clarinet and got quite a lot of the price.

Hey, no sarcasm! I'm willing to dish out some money to buy myself a new recorder because it's actually a really lovely instrument.

I've always wanted to play the flute. I play the horn, but I don't think I'm too good at brass instruments, and I play piano but I've gotten to the stage where I can't improve because I actually can't reach the notes (shame!), so a new instrument would be nice.
