My former best friend who I had a large falling out with 1 1/2 years ago is so lost.

It's really, really sad. I can't even describe how sad it is. The reason we stopped being friends was because we were having fights over, essentially, the direction we were going to go in highschool. She wanted to be popular, I did not. So, she outed me. So I left.

She's grown a lot faker since then, and it's sad, because she is literally using the fakeness to mask her depression.

I don't know why no one else can see it, but it's blaringly clear to me. She is very, very depressed. But she masks it by pretending to be happy all the time, and posing half naked on Facebook.

I can see right through it.

I guess it's none of my business, since we aren't friends anymore, and she put me through a lot of bs.

But, it is really sad. I wish I could do something for her. But I'm not a mystical prophet who appears out of nowhere to help you find yourself.

I haven't really talked to her in 1 1/2 years. I talked to her a few days ago, to tell her about a club I wanted to make at school, because last I remembered, she was into it.

maybe the time has come that you to have grown apart and thats that, You can't kid yourself that you can help her.. if shes doing what shes doing then she needs help proffessionally and yes i agree its sad but ive lost alot of close friends in the past and it was all because of the direction we were going in through college and school, You jus need to keep your head up, study hard and try and make friends that you know you can rely on and trust. And if it does come to any consilation I lost my only best friend through school because she moved foster homes and now doesnt wanto know me.. so onestly maybe you should just move on!

You can see it better because you know her more than everyone else. I know that you two don't speak to each other anymore but maybe you should come up to her one day and just start a conversation with her, even if she's reluctant to talk to you. Depression is not an easy thing to deal with and you seem like you care about her. So help her. Maybe you should try to confront her but just between the both of you. Ask her what could be wrong, whats going on..things along those lines. If she acts up, leave it alone. I know you said that you're not a mystical prophet but still, help her out. You know you want to.

If you talk to her, make sure you don't come off as blaming her for her problems.  You have to be tactful.
