So my best friend and his twin brother use the same AIM name, and sometimes it's hard to tell who is who. Well, he signed on, and he asked about AP scores, and I told him mine. And he told me his, and they weren't very good at all. And I asked, "Oh, so what did Dillon make?" And said, "Oh, so you heard those scores and you just knew it was me?" And I didn't mean that at all! Dillon would have fucked with me before he told me his scores, that's all. I told him that, but I don't think he believes me. I told my mom what happened, and she's all, "Yeah, I would get kind of pissed too"

You explained, you are right. Bottom line. If the kid is cocky enough to think you meant it as a negative thing against him, then it's on him.

Do what I do. Whenever 2 people are using the same screenname I tell them to either get a different screenname or I don't talk to them on AIM.
