Recently Apple has made a return to the market with their "Ipods" and now Apple computers seem to be catching the eyes of consumers. While Apple is beginning to gain popularity many people are becoming fed-up with PC and Windows. The population has come to the general consenus that Windows Vista basicaly sucks.

So I'm wondering who thinks that Macs are going to become much more common in the next few years? And PC's are going to fall out of favour? (More or less not entirely)

PC is better....i hate the format of Macs

if macs weren't so expensive and more things were compatible with them they'd definately be market leaders

i use macs in college all the time, and i honestly just prefare using the PC

I don't like macs, but they do work better than PCs from my experience. I just don't like the formatting.

I think PC will probably always be more common, because people use what they no, and often times, people are too scared to try to learn something, new, esp comps., like a Mac, however, Macs are def. becoming more popular, all apple products are.

Mac's will become slightly more common, but windows holds the cooperate network market, home users will follow them like sheep. Home users dont like to learn something new, they like things that they are already familiar with, thus windows will keep its monopoly on the market. Apple will NEVER beat windows with the cooperate network market, because its horrible to try to network and secure an apple on a large scale.

That's mainly the fault of Macs not having a big enough market share. They've been steadily picking up steam in terms of sales numbers, so compatibility will be less of an issue as time goes on.

i love my mac and would take it over a pc any day i only use our pc for a few things but by far love my mac more

Both are great, but I don't think Mac will overtake the PC market any time soon.

I don't think Mac really is an enterprise solution, more of a consumer one.  But I might be wrong..

Not true, apple just dont want to 'give in' to microsoft protocols, when MS had TCP/IP, Apple had 'Appletalk' they spent many years refusing to move over untill they finally realised, The only way to progress was to take the TCP/IP protocol. When apple start to incorporate kerberos authentication, SMB server protocol, LDAP and a few select others, they will become viable networking machines. Untill then, they are hard to distribute and manage in a corperate environment. The technology is there, Apple just have to admit there weaknesses and play catch up with Microsoft for a few years

lol. I remember the days of Appletalk. That shit was a nightmare trying to network with PCs.

It all depends on what you want to do.

Do you like Photoshop and clear plastic cases? Then it's Mac.

If you like to run programs, download files/movies, play games, and upgrade components with ease, then you want PC.

-- Posted by Micus at 7:55 am on July 19, 2008

I like PC because of the upgradability of every single component in the system.

Macs are all purchased at set (overpriced) system stats, with no upgradability.

Not to mention I bought each component of my PC seperately and built it, costing 600 dollars while a comparable system sold by Mac costs twice as much.

I'm sick of these debates.  They both have their pros and cons.  They're just computers (that coming from me, a computer programmer).  It's a matter of personal preference, and a matter of what you're using it for.  It depends on how much money you have.  They're computers, not social movements.  Just end this, it's annoying.

PCs will still be used more in businesses where all you need a word processor and a chart maker. Macs will be used more in the audio and visual fields like always.

It doesn't really matter it's just personal preference. Both companies are run by nice people who are trying to provide you with a product you need. Having a Mac won;t make you cool, and using Windows doesn't make you a cave crawling barbarian. It's just a fucking computer.

With that said I rock Windows since I like PC gaming.
