My hair is falling out, and I don't know what to do about it. It's slowly falling out all around the back of my head (the crown). My mother suggests that I cut all my hair. I don't think that would make sense, because the problem is at the root, because it's NOT GROWING BACK. Could I go to the doctor and ask him for some medicine to make my hair grow? Is this the right course of action? I don't know what else to do.

If you get your hair cut shorter it takes the weight off, so it gives it more chance of not falling out. Thats why when people have chemo they get their haircut shorter, cos theres still a 50% chance of it not falling out. Might be competly different from this, but its worth a try.

what about those shampoos for thinning hair. also, theres a condition that causes that. its called Alopecia. it can be treated by topical minoxidil.

hahahahaha learn to spell before you laugh at others problems. You should be able to go to the doctor for it, because there could be a number of conditions that cause this, and depending on how old you are, it easily could be male baldness. I have a friend who's 19 and already has a receding hairline.

It could be an iron deficiancy so definately go to the doctors and ask for a blood test and for them to look at your iron levels. I work at a hairdressers and some of the older ladies have had that problem and found they can fix it with their diet.
