Alright so I have two cisco catalyst 2900xl switches and a wireless router connected to one of them. Now the wireless router is unprotected so people can connect to it when ever they want. Now because I am learning "security" on my network, if something happens to their computer while on my network, will I get into trouble? Its like saying a kid is in my front yard playing when I'm in the middle of doing lawn care and the kid gets hurt when I'm away doing something else. Hmmm I've even had a police officer connect to my network.

actually what you do is you say "i didnt know how to secure it, other people have hacked me" and you are free i let my wireless go unsecure when i'm doing illegal stuff

What exactly would happen to their computer that's bad? They could do illegal things which could in fact get you in trouble however yes.
