Many of my friends studied for many of the sections...

Personally, I only studied for my SAT II Biology Molecular (and I was reading the book right up until the moment I was walking into the room, lol, didn't quite finish it...). Other than that, Math II, French, and the SAT Is, I did without studying... I suppose I'm lazy.

So, did any of you study, or are you planning on studying?

no i will not study for the s.a.t.. if you know it you know it ,if you dont you dont...studying wont help

For SAT IIs maybe.

With the SAT, it's good to familiarise yourself with the format and shit but studying is a waste of time.

I'm pretty sure I've seen statistics show that students that study do better by a certain percentage on average.

But when it comes to the SAT IIs, depending on what you're taking, I find it hard NOT to study.  Depending on when you're taking you SAT IIs, you may not have finished the class that covers the information.

I didn't really. I took a practice test and called it good. Those were the old SATs though. Not sure how the new ones work.

I got those "prepare for the SAT books" and studied. I got a 1900.

Yeah, I did a practice test a year before I took them and stuff, so I knew the layout.

In terms of the new SAT, it just has another section (Writing) which has some questions, and then you have to write an essay.

Math 1 --> 520; no study
Math 2 --> 560; study AP Calculus

for the SAT i did three practice tests. seemed to help.

i didn't take at SAT II's.

I didn't study for my SAT or SAT II (World History, US History, Literature) exams, and did alright. If memory serves:

SAT: 1920/2400
World - 660
US - 720
Lit - 680

And hell, I go to one of the best schools (T15) in the country, so clearly they don't matter that much.

The SAT IIs are different though.  Two of them I didn't have to study for, but there was no way to pass my biology one without studying for it.  And for other people that studied the for the SAT IIs, we hadn't even taken the highschool class for it yet.  Most colleges need your SAT scores by November-January, which means you would have to take it before you may have even taken a class.

yes, for the SATs. I got a 2120. I never took that SAT II's

-- Posted by TigressaLynnMae at 5:31 pm on July 28, 2008

I didn't take the SATs, but I took the ACTs, and I didn't study, at all. No point. You either know it, or you don't. Often, more than not, in the past, they didn't teach for the tests. Nor study before them. They just took them.

Yeah, I'll study for my SATs. I took the PSATs last year as a sophomore and I did OK. I scored pretty good on CR, but sucked at Math and did OK with Verbal.
