-- Posted by bluerosedangel at 12:01 am on July 23, 2008
You choose whether or not to click the link.
-- Posted by FurryPanther at 12:02 am on July 23, 2008
If you're stupid enough to click a link to a risky site, or to a URL ending in .exe, you deserve the virus. FP
-- Posted by penguinsrule at 12:03 am on July 23, 2008

-- Posted by blufindr at 12:03 am on July 23, 2008
You have the choice to click it. If you're an idiot enough to not check what you're clicking, you deserve a virus.

They might hyperlink you though. How do you know this link won't take you to a worm or a virus?

By putting my mouse over the link and looking at the URL in the address bar at the bottom?

Because it still shows up in the bottom of the screen, genius.

What about this link? www.wikipedia.org (It's a potential trap!)
-- Posted by VALIENT at 12:05 am on July 23, 2008

Again, it clearly shows you what the link is if you place your cursor over it.
-- Posted by ceemonster at 12:07 am on July 23, 2008
if they hyperlink you, be intelligent. EVERYTIME somebody sends me a hyperlink, I right click, then click "copy shortcut" & paste it onto wordpad. if it looks fishy, I dont click it. if it looks okay, I click.

It's like a virus but you get it from going on a page instead from downloading a file.
