Then some geniuses thought "Hey! We've got this great information tool, but all the information is scattered everywhere. Why don't we collect the best bits of it and store it in one convenient place! It'll be like an encyclopedia! But we can't call it that, because that's boring and boring is for old people. We need something hip...new...something from...THE FUTURE! So let's call it wikipedia. All the old people will be like "-pedia sounds smart!" and the new people will be like "dang that sounds cool!" and we will win over the hearts of all the people of the world that can afford computers".
