Okay so I have some ripped mp3s, but the information stored on them is all fucked up really good. Wrong artists and sometimes wrong song titles. I used a different program than iTunes to rip them... Anyways I have said songs in my library on iTunes, how do I get iTunes to update the tags and information?

Edit them yourself

Click on the song so that it's... highlighted or whatever, then click the title so that the thing pops up so you can type in it. That made no sense, sorry...

well stop using limewire for starters, and you're going to have to fix the tags manually, one by one ... its going to take a lot of time and patience

You have to edit them yourself. Right click - get info. I'm really anal about getting all mine perfect, so I use a tagging program called musicbrainz picard before importing them to itunes.

The only way you can let iTunes edit them yourself is if you bought the music from iTunes, which obviously it would have the information correctly labeled anyways. It's a lot of work honestly, but you get what you pay for, or rather what you don't pay for. It took me about 26 hours to fully rename, correct, put in missing information, find missing information, etc... for all my songs. (1077 at current count)

Fuck You Dumbass who said limewire!? You think a professional mobile DJ is using limewire? I get music from Promo Only every month, I rip it with windows media player, which is always wrong. I want to know how iTunes will just recognize the album and read it.

Can't you just rip them straight to iTunes? Anyway, if the CD isn't in the iTunes database for information, you'll need to edit them yourself - right click, get info - you can fill in all of your information there. It takes ages, though.

Yeah, if it's a cd, normally itunes recognises it.
