I was practicing gymnastics when I got stung by a bug or bitten or something, it distracted me long enough that I fell from the rings and landed on my knees. I have a scrape from where I landed but I'm experiencing some stiffness and pain above where my kneecap and like... leg meet. The cut's aren't really bothering me but in my right leg it's swollen to about 1.2x it's normal size. The bruise is blueish and there is some yellow at the bottom of my kneecap... The part that hurts is just above my kneecap and it's sore to the touch.

I'm kind of loose on funds so I don't want to goto the Dr. unless I absolutely have to.

Anyone know what I can do here?

I've posted in another forum for medical stuff but I normally get faster answers here... (even if they suck)

Just ice it. If it isn't better in a few days, see a doctor.

Yah I've had ice on it in 20 min intervals for the past couple hours... but it keeps getting stiffer

You better be talking about frozen water and not...

Ice for 20 minutes, off for 10 (so you don't freeze the tissue) and keep it elevated.

Ice it and make sure you don't leave the ice on for over 30 minutes. I was stupid enough and I put an ice pack on my knee after I hurt it while playing soccer and I watched television and I couldn't feel my knee so, I thought the ice pack was working. But only did I know that it was not better. My knee was frostbited.

And make sure your don't leave the ice pack on your knee without anything between your knee and the ice pack.
