they say that pmdd is just a severe form of pms. the main difference seems to be "it interferes with your life" more. but at what point does it really count as interfering?

almost every month, i feel like i'm crawling out of my own skin. i'm irritable, i get teary (at the least. i often end up full-on bawling), i feel pathetic, i can't seem to get motivated to do anything, sometimes my sleeping patterns are a little off, sometimes i gain a little weight/feel bloated, i feel overwhelmed/anxious about things, minor things that would normally not be a big deal are suddenly a lot harder to handle..... IT REALLY FUCKING SUCKS. i don't know what else to say except it really fucking sucks.

has anyone here been diagnosed with PMDD or know more about it?? i don't know if it really matters if i have it or not though, considering the treatment seems to just be antidepressants (and i'd rather not go on antidepressants) ...

I don't know what that's like.  I don't really get pms.

Never been diagnosed with PMDD, my PMS isn't really that bad. Thank God.

when you PMS so bad you cant function, it interferes with your life.

I dunno, I just remember in the commercial about PMDD, the woman forgot her keys a lot. Do you misplace your keys when you've got PMS?

I just think PMS affects some women more than others, but there's no reason to call it a different name.

1. saying "just chill" right now is kind of like telling someone who is clinically depressed to "just snap out of it" -- it's not really in my control

2. i totally would go smoke a bowl! hah. but i just got my wisdom teeth out and i don't want the smoke to fuck with my mouth healing.

If you're suicidal, please see a therapist.  No one wants to hear your rants.  KK THX

well, to clarify:

i'm not suicidal.
and i'm just trying to get more information and insight about PMDD.

i'm not usually one to "bump" topics...but i'd really like to know if anyone has any more information!?

There is lots of information on PMDD here:
http://www.healthyplace.com/communities/depression/pmdd.asp

I too think I have PMDD, and it's a shame that no one seems to be taking this subject seriously.  I have the same symptoms as you, including suicidal thoughts, and it is not PMS, but also not a full mental illness, it's PMDD.
