Fuck college, it is way to over rated. You don't have to go to college to get a decent paying job. You just need something after highschool.

-- Posted by Innuendo Girl at 9:45 pm on Aug. 2, 2008

Parents are paying through loans, I'm paying through a part-time job, my aunt is matching every dollar I save that goes towards college

-- Posted by MiNNiCK at 9:45 pm on Aug. 2, 2008

Myself. My parents are dead.

-- Posted by Vintorez at 9:45 pm on Aug. 2, 2008

parents paying and some grant money

-- Posted by bluerosedangel at 9:46 pm on Aug. 2, 2008

Myself, financial aid, and scholarships. But then freshman year I blew off all my hw, failed most of my classes, and lost all of my scholarships. It fuckin sucks paying for college out or your own wallet.

I was on my way to a full ride basketball scholarship until I blew out my knee. Now I have non-athletic scholarships and grants, and my parents and I share the rest. They pay the bulk of it, but I do contribute.

Oh ya youre private arent you?
Damn.  What the hell were you smokin in high school to get a $40k scholarship??

I went down from $36,000 to $19k with a scholarship.

My parents are going to help me the best they can, but neither of them are wealthy so I can't expect them to pay it all. My grandpa has given me college bonds every year as a birthday gift for 17 years. I've never been grateful til now. I'm applying for scholarships and I'll surely take out some student loans, but I'll get by. It's god's will I do.

Yah. Fucking private blows. I should have applied to fucking Community college.
Or something near my town. Then i wouldn't have to pay for dorm and could have just stayed home. Theres a uni like 10 minutes from here. Another 5 minutes. And another 15 minutes. And ANOTHER 30 minutes.
There's so many! WHY WAS I SO STUPID!

And i was only smoking the best of ganja.

For real....I think I picked the MOST expensive school out of every one on my list.

After my scholarships, grants, and a perkins loan ($4000), I have my freshmen year paid off. Books, lab fees, and other crapy fees they add to it is not covered
Better then most people have to pay!

-- Posted by Aratal at 1:09 am on Aug. 3, 2008

Loans, grants. Definitely not my parents. Working on actually getting scholarships next year.

*laughs ass off* That's such bullshit. Good luck working at McDonald's or Burger King the rest of your life, with your high school degree. Many, and most, places, in this day and age, despite NEEDING workers, will NOT hire right of high school. Even if you have a GED, you're still at risk of being screwed in the job area. A college degree is almost a must.

My parents paid for my college. Now, it's up to me.

Hmmm, I think you misunderstood me. You dopn't have to go to COLLEGE there are other things out there like the Military, Trade Schools, Apprenticeships. Colloege is not the only thing out there to further your education.

College is pretty much the only thing that will get you a decent job, though. Trade schools and apprenticeships are nice, but they're not what employers are looking for. And, well, Military may advance your education, but, again, employers tend to look at education in 'primary' system over anything else.

Or, at least, that's been my experience.
