We live in Canada. Right now I'm unemployed, praying for a second interview. My boyfriend works full time, he is landscaper. Winter is coming fast. Last winter we had a rough time getting through it. He wants a career in machines, like a heavy equipments operator. Right now we can't afford anything. Right now he wants to get his forklift license. It would cost us $250, and would help him get a job in the winter. The winter that passed he was unemployed for the most part, and then had a $8/hour job. So, do you think it's worth scraping $250 for him to get his forklift license? Right now we're so tight on money. (Hopefully I get that job soon!)

Yes, it's worth it. You'll be short on money for a while, but then you'll get more money than you would without the license.

definitely worth it. once he has it, the benefits will far outweigh the sacrifices you had to make, because he'll have a much better shot at employment.

QFT. Skills and knowledge (such as a forklift license) is almost always worth it.
