Hey everyone,
Looking for a bit of insight here. I'm in an awkward situation here.

Theres a girl I like. She also likes me. We both know that we like each other, and we're quite close.

Now my best friend, who is also a girl, has around a week ago confessed her love for me.

I don't know what to do. I like this girl, she's wonderful. My friend is awesome and I love her, but as a friend. I don't want to ruin our friendship if we break up, and she's too much of a good friend.

Now the girl and my friend really don't get on. I have no idea why, but they just don't get on with each other. It really makes no sense as they both have so much in common, and they're both nice people.

The closer I get to this girl the more my friend feels hurt and upset. Today I noticed how down she is. Not her normal self at all.

I have no idea what to do, can anyone help me?

she just told you she loves you so you wouldn't hook up with the girl

I would say go with the new girl. If your friend was really your friend, she would definitely understand.

She's being selfish if she's going to throw a fit just because you'll date this girl.

You should talk to her about it. Find out how she really feels and if she'd be okay with you even talking to this other girl.

The reason why they don't get along is because they're both interested in you. Girls that are interested in a guy, usually don't like his 'girl'friends.

tell her that she is your best friend, and means more to you than this girl, but you just cant date her

Hmm, I don't think she's saying it just to stop me going out with this girl, she told me before she even knew I liked her so... And she did used to like me a few years back, and we've been very close since then.

My friend isn't trying to stop us going out or anything, I just cant stand to see her upset or hurt.

My advice would be that you would go out with the girl you like, but still stay close to your best friend.

If either girls get jealous, you need to talk it over with them. Jealousy is anything but a good thing.

If you do go out with your best friend, it probably wouldn't be good, because friends usually are just friends, and the relationship won't really be as strong. That is what I have seen though. There are many exceptions.

If you do go out with the girl, you need to stay close to your best friend, but try not to make them jealous.

You going out with the girl is the one that I personally think would cause the least problems and would work out the best.

I hope my advice helped you. If you have any questions, my PM box is always open.

Do you honestly think a girl who likes you would like the girl you like?

I'm not expecting them to like each other, I just dont want either of them to get hurt.
