I think I'm smarter than the average person; I acknowledge this and I'm showing my appreciation for it now. Anyone else out there who values their mind?
-- Posted by Mustang11 at 7:00 pm on Aug. 5, 2008
I definately value my mind and my smarts. It allows me to compete with anyone in a debate, or even a simple arguement. I love shutting down adults =D

I definitely do. I'm pretty sure that I would qualify as above average intelligence-wise, and I use that to my advantage when opportunity knocks.

I value my mind. As a paperweight. I honestly don't see how I can be considered smart.

Good for you. Unfortunately I've never really appreciated 'it' or IT, or whatever its called, simply because everybody has it. Its just a matter of who actually makes use of it, that some seem to have more of it than others. . . In that way, no, we are all equal - but the fools choose not to use it.

If you want to be like that, at least do it correctly. Quote: from sophos at 9:47 pm on Aug. 5, 2008

We've already discussed this, but yeah I did it wrong. However I feel like I should just throw out there that strong grammar does not necessarily imply intelligence and vice versa. But I'm sure all of you knew that already.

By my estimate, I'd be pretty much without redeeming talent without an intellect. That makes me immensely grateful.
-- Posted by katkatkat at 8:26 am on Aug. 16, 2008
I often wonder what it would be like to be a little less than intelligent, though. In any case, that's what I'm thankful for everyday- because of my intellect, I have a rare talent. I don't know what I'd do without it.

I'm thankful for the intellect I've been endowed with, yes.
-- Posted by palepalepeach at 4:39 pm on Aug. 16, 2008
I too am thankful that I am smart. But I think it makes interacting with people hard for me. Like if I'm talking to someone who isn't terribly smart or is talking about something like how much they don't like school, it makes it harder for me to like or respect them very much. Or I might start analyzing our conversation when it's still going on, which can just get distracting or overwhelming

No, i was talking about the person who corrected you incorrectly.

Being more intelligent than most is very helpful, especially since I have many other above average qaulities. I value my mind, and use it in every situation.

They should rename this the Snob Forum. Can't see anything intellectual about this post.

I think it is clear that the average person thinks himself ahead of the bell.
-- Posted by smokeybacon at 3:16 pm on Aug. 19, 2008
I value my mind. I f I wasn't smart I would not have a lot else going for me. It has got me through tough points in my depressions with events such as getting very high marks at school and my report levels.

I might be smarter than the average person, but it doesn't go to my head. I'm work around people who are far smarter than I am, so it's all about perspective. Here on LW.. hah, completely different story. I'm up against Jr. High kids..

Internet forums give kids with bad social skills the illusion that they're smarter than the average bear, many of them even use this imagined maturity and intellect as an excuse for their inabilities in their peer groups rather than addressing the real reasons for their inadequacies. In reality, barring social disorders, the more agile the mind the more easily social someone is.

Eloquently put. I agree, hahaha.

By the way Prince you have more than brains man, my favorite thing about you is you collected temperament and at least on the web, bearing and confidence. You have a wife you aren't exactly doing badly for yourself and regardless of what you believe it's a lot more than your intelligence quotient that is responsible for who and what you are and will be.

I value my mind, my opinions and my personality more than I value anything else about myself.
